A recent article in the Times by Alan Wartes on the Colorado State Water Plan piqued my interest — because of a possible solution to the state’s water shortfall that the plan leaves unexplored.

Prior Gunnison resident Curtis Cichanowski, age 68, died suddenly on Aug. 9 doing what he loved most: riding his motorcycle. He started riding when he was 13 years old and continued throughout his life. He led an adventurous life of motorcycles, skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing and more. He served in the Army. After graduating from Western State College, he married Connie Ambrose. He left the Gunnison Valley in 1986 and moved to Winona, Minn. He was loved very much by his friends and family. He is survived by his children Chrissy LaCroix (Cichanowski) of Fort Collins and Curt Cichanowski of Dayton, Ohio, and siblings Nancy Ostergaard of Winona, Minn., and Steve Cichanowski of Apple Valley, Minn. Services will be held in Winona, Minn., at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, this Saturday, Aug. 16. Call Chrissy if you have any questions at 303.585.0019.
