A recent article in the Times by Alan Wartes on the Colorado State Water Plan piqued my interest — because of a possible solution to the state’s water shortfall that the plan leaves unexplored.

The New York Times has been sniffing around the Gunnison Valley recently, trying to catch a whiff of how the legalization of marijuana is working out in Colorado c ommunities — including small, out-of-the-way ones like ours. Part of their thinking in coming here, I was told by a mild-mannered gentleman who introduced himself as an editorial writer for the ol’ Gray Lady, was to get a sense of how legalization was being accepted, or not, and what impacts were being felt away from the cannabis epicenter of Denver.
